Thank God for Literacy…

“I worry about you, and your religion.  For if your dubious proposition that ‘God hath created Man in His own image’ is true, how offended must He be to contemplate his reflection?

For I am entirely confident that vastly more than 99% of all people are but obstacles to progress.  And while I have neither the time nor interest to calculate the precise value to the right of that decimal, suffice it to say that those who do not lack vision—and the courage to pursue it—are frighteningly few in number.  The “ambitious” likely constitute a mere rounding error.

Indeed, the very best of that uninspired supermajority serve as nothing more than witnesses to history, and even that may be too kind a characterization.  Most aren’t even this worthy.  With eyes open are they still asleep, disengaged and anonymous, yet nonetheless able to drool at their high-definition televisions.

This world is fueled by that which they lack: vision, so supplied by the elite cadre of voracious, muscular, project-oriented dreamers who discover early on that the only thing more insulting to God than anonymity in life is, of course, anonymity in death.

I blame you for this, the unimaginative extent of our collective potential.  Oh, nevermind; you serve your purpose, I suppose.  For how could I be sure of my own existence were you not there to read about it in the morning post?”
